ABOUT ME

Welcome! I’m Rebecca Fischer, and I unironically love sardines. I grew up eating them straight from the can as a kid, then used them to add to various dishes when I was a broke twenty-something. Now, I'm a mom looking to cook meals that are as nutritious and yummy as they are easy. That's where canned sardines come to my rescue. They’re cheap, they’re tasty…to me, there’s a lot to love about canned sardines!

Join me on my (not so) culinary journey to discover 101 ways to eat sardines and other canned fish and seafood.

When I’m not finding new ways to eat sardines, I can be found spending time with my family and kitties in my cabin in the mountains.

Whether you like them in water, in olive oil, mustard, or ketchup, there are so many ways to use this tasty little fish. We’re partial to sardines sprinkled with lemon pepper, but that’s just us.

CANNED SARDINES ARE CHEAP AND AFFORDABLE

While fresh fish and seafood taste amazing, it’s expensive. And unless you live right by the ocean or some other body of water, it’s unlikely you have access to fish fresh off the boat and hook. And heaven forbid if you don’t cook it right away! As per the term “fresh,” it doesn’t have a long shelf life.

You’ll never break the bank cooking with sardines and other canned fish, though. They cost less than a dollar per can in most places, and you don’t have to worry about it spoiling too soon or your money going to waste. Just like Twinkies, canned sardines will probably be here long after the zombie apocalypse.
